1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Eddo: Flashcard Maker ("the App") handles your information. Eddo: Flashcard Maker is a flashcard and quiz learning application developed by Umit UZ with AI-powered quiz generation and spaced repetition.

Eddo is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your flashcard decks and progress are stored locally on your device. The App does not require an account. Flashcard content is sent to a third-party AI service only when you generate a quiz (described below).

2. Information We Collect

Eddo does not collect personal information on remote servers. Your flashcard decks and learning progress are stored exclusively on your device. No data leaves your device except for AI quiz generation requests (described below).

2.1 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Flashcard decks: Decks, flashcards (front / back text), and deck organization you create
  • Learning progress: Cards studied, mastery levels, and spaced-repetition scheduling state
  • Quiz history: Generated quizzes, your answers, and quiz results
  • Preferences: Study and display preferences

2.2 Data Transmitted to Third Parties

When you use AI-powered quiz generation, the text content of your flashcards (and your quiz-generation prompt) is sent to Groq (via the Groq API) to generate quizzes. This transmission is encrypted via HTTPS. No personal identity information, account data, or device identifiers is included in these requests.

3. No Account or Login Required

Eddo: Flashcard Maker does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind. All functionality is accessible immediately on launch without any credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Groq AI

Eddo uses Groq's API to generate AI-powered quizzes and study steps from your flashcards. When you request a quiz, your flashcard text and prompt are sent to Groq. Groq's handling of this data is governed by Groq's own privacy policy. The Groq API key used by the App is the developer's bundled key and is not tied to you.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

Eddo: Flashcard Maker does not integrate any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV), or third-party tracking of any kind. There are no cookies, beacons, or similar tracking mechanisms.

6. Internet Usage

Eddo: Flashcard Maker requires an internet connection only for:

  • AI quiz generation via the Groq API
  • Opening external links (privacy policy, terms, support)

Creating and studying flashcards, spaced repetition, and reviewing progress all work fully offline. AI quiz generation requires an internet connection.

7. Data Sharing

Eddo: Flashcard Maker does not sell, rent, share, or disclose any user data to third parties. Since no personal data is collected by the developer, there is nothing to share.

8. Children's Privacy

Eddo: Flashcard Maker is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The App is not directed at children under the age of 13.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete individual decks, flashcards, or quizzes from within the App. Deleting the App from your device removes all locally stored study content.

10. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
