1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Cheice: Play & Learn Chess ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
2. Description of the Service
Cheice: Play & Learn Chess is a chess training and education application that provides:
- Play against an AI opponent (Stockfish engine) at four difficulty levels
- Pass & Play local two-player mode
- Daily puzzles and themed puzzle collections
- Interactive chess lessons across five categories
- Opening explorer for six popular chess openings
- Post-game analysis with move quality ratings
- Local rating tracking and achievements
All core gameplay features run entirely on-device and do not require an internet connection. An internet connection is only needed for subscription validation and accessing external links.
3. Eligibility
The App is available to anyone who downloads it from the Apple App Store. By using the App, you represent that you have the authority to agree to these Terms. There is no age restriction imposed by the App itself.
4. Accounts
Cheice: Play & Learn Chess does not require an account or registration. No login, email, or password is needed to use any feature.
5. Subscriptions and Purchases
5.1 Cheice Subscription
Cheice: Play & Learn Chess offers auto-renewable subscription plans (monthly and annual) that unlock premium features, including:
- Advanced and Expert AI difficulty levels
- Unlimited puzzles across all themes
- All interactive lessons (22+ lessons)
- Opening Explorer
- Game Analysis with move quality ratings
- Puzzle hints
5.2 Free Tier
The App includes a free tier with limited access: one difficulty level (Beginner), one daily puzzle, one free usage of each premium feature, and the first lesson in each category. After consuming the free usage, you will be prompted to subscribe.
5.3 Payment and Renewal
Payment is charged to your Apple ID upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
5.4 Managing Subscriptions
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple Account Settings.
5.5 Restore Purchases
If you have previously purchased a subscription, you can restore it through the "Restore Purchases" button within the App.
5.6 Apple Standard EULA
In-app purchases are subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
6. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the App, including its code, design, graphics, and content, belong to Umit UZ. You are granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
ChessKit is an open-source library used under its own license. Stockfish is used under the GNU General Public License v3.
7. User Conduct
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Modify, copy, or distribute the App or its content
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to bypass subscription validation mechanisms
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties, express or implied. The developer does not guarantee that:
- The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Chess engine analysis will be perfectly accurate at all times
- The App will meet your specific requirements or expectations
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Umit UZ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of ratings, or loss of enjoyment of the game.
10. Changes to These Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Turkey. Any disputes shall be resolved through amicable negotiation in good faith.
