1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Japanigo: Learn Japanese ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of the Service

Japanigo: Learn Japanese is a Japanese language learning application that provides:

  • Structured lessons across hiragana, katakana, kanji, and vocabulary
  • Flashcards, quizzes, and spaced practice with proficiency tracking
  • Pronunciation practice with speech-recognition feedback
  • AI study assistant (chat and analysis, using your own Groq key)
  • Streaks, XP, achievements, and progress analytics

3. Eligibility

The App is available to anyone who downloads it from the Apple App Store. By using the App, you represent that you have the authority to agree to these Terms.

4. Accounts

Japanigo: Learn Japanese does not require an account or registration. No login, email, or password is needed to use any feature. All data is stored locally on your device.

5. AI-Generated Content

Japanigo's AI assistant uses artificial intelligence (via Groq, with an API key you provide) to generate study help, explanations, and analysis. AI output is provided for learning support only; the developer makes no guarantees regarding its accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness. You are responsible for your own Groq API key and any usage charges from Groq. Your chat text is transmitted to Groq; see the Privacy Policy for details.

6. Subscriptions and Purchases

6.1 Japanigo Premium Subscription

Japanigo: Learn Japanese offers auto-renewable subscription plans (monthly and annual) that unlock premium features, including:

  • Unlimited daily lessons and practice (free tier has daily limits)
  • AI study assistant and advanced pronunciation practice
  • Full lesson catalog and advanced categories
  • Detailed progress analytics

6.2 Free Tier

The free tier includes core lessons, flashcards, quizzes, and streak tracking with daily usage limits.

6.3 Payment and Renewal

Payment is charged to your Apple ID upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

6.4 Managing Subscriptions

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple Account Settings.

6.5 Restore Purchases

If you have previously purchased a subscription, you can restore it through the "Restore Purchases" button within the App.

6.6 Apple Standard EULA

In-app purchases are subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

7. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in the App, including its code, design, graphics, and content, belong to Umit UZ. You are granted a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

8. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, copy, or distribute the App or its content
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to bypass subscription validation mechanisms

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" without warranties. The developer does not guarantee that:

  • The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Lessons, translations, or pronunciation feedback will always be accurate
  • AI-generated explanations will be correct or complete

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Umit UZ shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on pronunciation feedback, translations, or AI explanations for language proficiency or accuracy.

11. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.
