1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Piony: Learn & Play Piano ("the App") handles your information. Piony: Learn & Play Piano is a piano learning application developed by Umit UZ that teaches you to play piano through interactive lessons and songs.

Piony is designed with privacy as a core principle. The App does not require an account and your practice data stays on your device.

2. Information We Collect

Piony does not collect any personal information on remote servers. All data is stored locally on your device with one optional exception: iCloud sync for progress across your own devices.

2.1 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Progress: XP, level, total notes played, total practice time, current and best streaks, last practice date, accuracy stats
  • Completed content: IDs of completed songs, lessons, and unlocked achievements
  • Song data: Favorite song IDs, best scores per song, play counts
  • Practice history: Weekly practice minutes broken down by day
  • Preferences: Sound volume, metronome BPM, note labels toggle, haptic feedback toggle
  • Onboarding data: Selected goal, skill level, pain points, music genres
  • Free usage counter: Number of free song plays used (limit: 1)
  • Feedback: In-app ratings and comments you choose to submit (stored locally, never transmitted)

2.2 Optional iCloud Sync

Piony can sync your progress across your Apple devices using your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit. This data is stored in your private iCloud database and is not accessible to the developer. You can disable iCloud sync for Piony at any time through your device's iCloud settings.

3. No Account or Login Required

Piony: Learn & Play Piano does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind. All functionality is accessible immediately on launch without any credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 RevenueCat

Piony uses RevenueCat for subscription management and purchase receipt validation. Only standard App Store transaction data is processed. No practice data, progress, or personal information is shared.

4.2 AudioKit

AudioKit is used for audio processing (soundfont loading and playback). It runs entirely on your device and does not make any network connections.

4.3 Apple StoreKit and CloudKit

StoreKit processes subscription payments. CloudKit handles optional iCloud sync. Both are Apple frameworks — no third party is involved.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

Piony: Learn & Play Piano does not integrate any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV), or third-party tracking of any kind. There are no cookies, beacons, or similar tracking mechanisms.

6. Internet Usage

Piony: Learn & Play Piano requires an internet connection only for:

  • Subscription validation via RevenueCat (when purchasing or restoring)
  • Optional iCloud sync for progress across devices
  • Opening external links (privacy policy, terms, support)

All piano playing, lessons, metronome, and song playback work completely offline.

7. Audio Processing

All piano sounds are generated locally using a soundfont (.sf2) file bundled with the App. No audio data is recorded, transmitted, or stored. The App does not access your microphone.

8. Data Sharing

Piony: Learn & Play Piano does not sell, rent, share, or disclose any user data to third parties. Since no personal data is collected by the developer, there is nothing to share.

9. Children's Privacy

Piony: Learn & Play Piano is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

You can reset all progress at any time through the "Reset Progress" option in the App's Settings. Deleting the App also removes all locally stored data. iCloud-synced data can be managed through your Apple iCloud settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
