1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how MacroHaven: Calorie Counter ("the App") handles your information. MacroHaven: Calorie Counter is a calorie, macro, and nutrition tracking application developed by Umit UZ that calculates personalized targets and helps you log meals, recipes, and progress.

MacroHaven is designed with a privacy-first philosophy. All your nutrition data stays on your device. The App does not require an account. When you scan a product barcode, only the barcode is sent to a public food database to look up nutrition (described below).

2. Information We Collect

MacroHaven does not collect personal information on remote servers. Your food diary, meals, weight, and progress are stored exclusively on your device. No data leaves your device except barcode lookups (described below).

2.1 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Profile & targets: Biometrics, activity level, and fitness goals used to calculate your calorie and macro targets
  • Food diary: Logged meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Snack, Dinner), custom foods, and recent entries
  • Recipes & meal plans: Saved recipes, favorites, and active or custom meal plans
  • Progress: Weight log, water intake, statistics, streaks, and achievements
  • Shopping lists: Grocery lists you create, including items imported from recipes
  • Subscription status: Whether you have an active Pro subscription (cached for offline access)

2.2 Keychain Storage

Your subscription status is cached in the system Keychain (Apple's secure, encrypted storage) for offline entitlement verification.

2.3 Barcode Lookups

When you scan a food barcode, MacroHaven sends only the barcode number to the Open Food Facts public database to retrieve product and nutrition information. No personal information, account data, or device identifiers are included. Open Food Facts is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

3. No Account or Login Required

MacroHaven: Calorie Counter does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind. All functionality is accessible immediately on launch without any credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Open Food Facts

MacroHaven uses the Open Food Facts public database to look up product nutrition when you scan a barcode. Only the barcode number is sent; no personal information is transmitted. Open Food Facts' handling of this is governed by its own privacy policy.

4.2 Apple StoreKit 2

Subscriptions are managed directly through Apple's native StoreKit 2 framework. Only standard App Store transaction data is processed to validate your subscription. No RevenueCat or similar middleware is used.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

MacroHaven: Calorie Counter does not integrate any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV), or third-party tracking of any kind. There are no cookies, beacons, or similar tracking mechanisms.

6. Internet Usage

MacroHaven: Calorie Counter requires an internet connection only for:

  • Barcode nutrition lookups via the Open Food Facts public database
  • Subscription validation via Apple StoreKit 2 (when purchasing or restoring)
  • Opening external links (privacy policy, terms, support)

All logging, recipes, meal plans, statistics, and progress work fully offline. Barcode lookups and subscription purchases require an internet connection.

7. Camera Access

MacroHaven uses the camera to scan food barcodes and to capture meal photos for quick logging. The camera is accessed only when you actively start a scan or take a photo, and no images are uploaded — barcode scanning reads the barcode locally, and meal photos are stored on your device. Permission is requested once and can be withdrawn in iOS Settings.

8. Data Sharing

MacroHaven: Calorie Counter does not sell, rent, share, or disclose any user data to third parties. Since no personal data is collected by the developer, there is nothing to share.

9. Children's Privacy

MacroHaven: Calorie Counter is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

You can clear your food diary, weight log, and other data from within the App. Deleting the App removes all locally stored nutrition data.

11. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
