1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how MedBook: Health & Appointments ("the App") handles your information. MedBook: Health & Appointments is a personal healthcare appointment and medical-records management application developed by Umit UZ with appointment tracking, medical records, family profiles, and an AI health assistant.

MedBook is privacy-first and offline-first. Your sensitive medical data — records, prescriptions, appointments, and family profiles — stays on your device. The App does not require an account and performs no cloud uploads or tracking. Questions you ask the AI assistant are sent to a third-party AI service only to generate a response (described below).

2. Information We Collect

MedBook does not collect personal information on remote servers. Your medical records, prescriptions, appointments, insurance, and emergency info are stored exclusively on your device. No data leaves your device except AI-assistant requests (described below).

2.1 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Medical records: Prescriptions, lab results, vital signs, allergies, immunizations, and diagnoses you enter
  • Appointments & providers: Appointment bookings, favorite doctors and hospitals, and pharmacy details
  • Family & insurance: Family / dependent health profiles and insurance providers, plans, and claims
  • Emergency & reminders: Emergency contacts, SOS / medical-alert info, and local appointment reminders
  • AI assistant history: Your AI health-assistant conversations, stored locally

2.2 AI Assistant Messages

When you ask the AI health assistant a question, your message text (plus a system prompt and your conversation history) is sent to Groq (via the Groq API) over HTTPS to generate a response. No name, account data, or device identifier is included. Be mindful not to share sensitive identifiers you do not want processed by the AI service.

3. No Account or Login Required

MedBook: Health & Appointments does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind. All functionality is accessible immediately on launch without any credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Groq AI

MedBook's AI health assistant is powered by Groq's API. When you ask a question, your message text is sent to Groq to generate a response. Groq's handling of this data is governed by Groq's own privacy policy. The Groq API key is the developer's bundled key. The AI is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

MedBook: Health & Appointments does not integrate any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV), or third-party tracking of any kind. There are no cookies, beacons, or similar tracking mechanisms.

6. Internet Usage

MedBook: Health & Appointments requires an internet connection only for:

  • AI health assistant via the Groq API
  • Opening external links (privacy policy, terms, support, and emergency services)

All appointment, records, family, insurance, pharmacy, and reminder features work fully offline. The AI assistant requires an internet connection.

7. Data Sharing

MedBook: Health & Appointments does not sell, rent, share, or disclose any user data to third parties. Since no personal data is collected by the developer, there is nothing to share.

8. Children's Privacy

MedBook: Health & Appointments is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. MedBook is intended for adult users managing their own or their family's health. The App is not directed at children under the age of 13.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

You can delete individual records, appointments, or profiles, or reset all data from within the App. Deleting the App removes all locally stored medical data.

10. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
