1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Uvriex: UV Index Safety Monitor ("the App") handles your information. Uvriex: UV Index Safety Monitor is a UV-index and sun-safety monitoring application developed by Umit UZ that tracks UV levels, estimates burn time, and alerts you to high exposure.

Uvriex is designed with privacy as a core principle. No account is required. The App uses your device location only to fetch local UV readings, and does not track or store your movements.

2. Information We Collect

Uvriex does not collect personal information on remote servers. Your skin type, SPF, and alert settings are stored locally on your device. The only data sent externally is your device's latitude and longitude, used to retrieve UV data from a public weather API (described below).

2.1 Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored exclusively on your device:

  • Profile & preferences: Skin type (Fitzpatrick scale I-VI), SPF factor, protection goal, and alert threshold
  • Saved locations: Locations you have searched and saved for UV monitoring
  • Settings: Notification and display preferences

2.2 UV Data Requests

When Uvriex fetches current conditions, hourly forecasts, or 7-day predictions, your device's latitude and longitude are sent to the Open-Meteo public weather API to retrieve UV data for that location. No personal information, account data, or device identifiers are included.

3. No Account or Login Required

Uvriex: UV Index Safety Monitor does not require an account, registration, or sign-in of any kind. All functionality is accessible immediately on launch without any credentials.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Open-Meteo

Uvriex uses the Open-Meteo public weather API for UV-index data, hourly forecasts, and 7-day predictions. Only latitude and longitude coordinates are sent; no personal information is transmitted. No API key is required.

4.2 Apple MapKit

The Radar tab displays a map with a UV overlay using Apple's MapKit framework. MapKit is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your device settings.

4.3 Apple CoreLocation

Uvriex uses Apple CoreLocation to obtain your device location for accurate local UV readings. Background location updates are disabled.

5. No Analytics or Tracking

Uvriex: UV Index Safety Monitor does not integrate any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, advertising identifiers (IDFA/IDFV), or third-party tracking of any kind. There are no cookies, beacons, or similar tracking mechanisms.

6. Internet Usage

Uvriex: UV Index Safety Monitor requires an internet connection only for:

  • Fetching UV data, hourly forecasts, and 7-day predictions from the Open-Meteo API
  • Opening external links (privacy policy, terms, support)

Your saved profile, preferences, and locations are always available. Live UV readings, forecasts, and the Radar map require an internet connection.

7. Location Access

Uvriex uses your device location (Apple CoreLocation) to provide accurate local UV readings. Location is used only to fetch UV data for your current position, and background location updates are disabled. Uvriex does not track, store, or transmit your movement history. You can deny or withdraw location permission at any time in iOS Settings; saved locations can be used instead.

8. Data Sharing

Uvriex: UV Index Safety Monitor does not sell, rent, share, or disclose any user data to third parties. Since no personal data is collected by the developer, there is nothing to share.

9. Children's Privacy

Uvriex: UV Index Safety Monitor is not directed at children under the age of 13. The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

You can clear your saved locations and reset your settings from within the App. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data.

11. Changes to This Policy

If this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.
